[Q] Do you think the Zenfone 2 will receive attention from third-party devs and ROMs? topic

I was about to buy a OnePlus One, but on finding out about the Asus Zenfone 2, decided to hold until concrete pricing and reviews of the Zenfone 2 (the 1080p, 4 GB RAM, higher-clock CPU version) come in.

My main concern is about the Intel CPU inside the Zenfone 2. While its raw performance apparently beats the Snapdragon 801 in the OnePlus One (comparisons at fool.com/investing/general/2014/06/05/how-does-intels-atom-z3580-hold-up-against-qualcom.aspx), I'm worried about how much third-party devs and ROM-makers care about non-ARM/Qualcomm chipsets. I'm not sure about how quick and diligent Asus is with OS updates, and I'm not sure I'd be happy enough with their ZenUI ROM. I'd definitely like the option of alternative custom ROMs like CM, for example.

Do you think the Zenfone 2 will attract considerable dev interest to have a decent community of custom ROMs behind it? Or will a user probably be stuck with the manufacturer ROM and be at the mercy of Asus for OS updates?
