I recently aquired one of these tablets and it was stuck in a boot loop. I have done some heavy researching and managed to stop the boot loop by booting into recovery mode and selecting Wipe Data. There are only 3 options on the recovery screen (Vol down + pwr or reset then Vol down): RCK, Android, and Wipe Data. RCK results in a bad comand screen with an andoid opened up [for surgery?]
I have the current Android SDK on my Ubuntu Linux laptop. The recovery screen says something like Starting Fastboot Recovery protocol, yet I am unable to access it by ADB or Fastboot. I have tested ADB with my S4 and it works fine. Yet, Niether Fastboot or ADB recognize the tablet. I've read so many threads and I'm about to lose hope. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do aside from paying ASUS a butt-load of money to fix it? I'm not afraid to open it up and replace parts.
